El Portal, the gastronomic project created by a businessman Carlos Bosch seven years ago is now one of the busiest and most cosmopolitan locations in Alicante. This tasting menu (190 euros, including VAT including a bottle champagne for each two guests) is a mix of shared dishes, including Maldonado acorn-fed Iberian Ham, cut with a knife from Leon and accompanied by small pieces of bread, to which you can add oil and natural tomato, or even a half-cured mullet.
The diverse menu begins with a tin of Iranian beluga caviar layered on a bed of cream. Then it is followed by egg yolk, bacon, potato as well as black truffle, the introduction to a fantastic red prawn grilled from Denia.
For main dishes, bluefin tuna with nettles, and an excellent squab that Sergio Sierra prepares just right with just three cooking time. For dessert, red fruit with Mascarpone Ice Cream.
